Social Media Coordinator

Location:  Anywhere in North America - we all work remote!

 

We are looking for an eager to learn and creative Social Media Coordinator to join our team! This will be an internship style three-month position with a goal of transitioning into a Brand Experience Manager role at the end of the contract. 

Our Social Media Coordinator will work directly with our Brand Experience Managers in all areas of social media management. This position will play an active support role in managing our clients social media accounts in order to prepare to manage their own client accounts at the end of the three month contract.

We work with a myriad of different brands and industries ranging from e-commerce, outdoor adventure and apparel, publishing, cannabis, wine, events, B2B technology and various professional services. We love the variety - it keeps us on our toes! 

 

Here’s what you would be doing...

  • Assist in managing client brands, executing across all social media channels (platforms, programs, and campaigns). 

  • Develop relevant content topics to reach the company’s target customers.

  • Support in creating, curating, and scheduling published content (images, video and written).

  • Creating and managing social media contests. 

  • Researching relevant hashtags. 

  • Develop and expand community and/or influencer outreach efforts.

  • Conduct or support design (ie: Facebook Timeline cover, profile pic, thumbnails, ads, landing pages, Twitter profile, design blogs, etc.).

  • Support in designing, creating and managing social ad campaigns.

  • Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of social media efforts overall in an effort to maximize results.

  • Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy.

  • Implement ongoing education to remain highly effective.

  • Special projects as required. 

  • Community management for all agency clients during assigned shifts (9am-9pm), with four check-ins throughout the day. 

    • Find opportunities to reshare other content, participate in conversations. 

    • Ensure all questions, comments, and mentions are addressed and escalated as required. 

You know you’re qualified if you...

  • Demonstrate creativity and documented immersion in social media. 

  • Have experience sourcing and managing content.

  • Are an exceptionally creative person with the ability to identify and follow a visual brand strategy, and execute by creating supporting content (graphic, video, written, etc.) 

  • Exhibit the ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to analytical side, able to think outside of the box and problem solve as needed.

  • Display knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest etc.) and how each platform can be utilized in different scenarios.

  • Practice superior time management.

  • Are a team player with the confidence to take the lead in your own development.

  • Have a good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly.

  • Demonstrate winning Social Customer Service techniques such as empathy, patience, advocacy and conflict resolution

Pay & Hours:

Starting at $15-20/hour + based on proven abilities, experience and special skills. 
Approximately 10-15 hours/week required. Hours will fluctuate based on client roster and time of the month. 
This position is considered a freelance contractor, so the successful candidate will need to invoice Marr Media Group monthly for hours worked, and will be paid in full monthly. As a contractor, you’ll be responsible to claim this as income and file taxes. 

 

After three months… 
The ideal candidate will be ready to transition to a Brand Experience Manager by the end of three months and start managing clients on their own. This role is responsible for managing client social media accounts, maintaining a positive client relationship, driving strategies that are proven by testing and metrics, and designing, creating and managing social ad campaigns. Our BEM’s also contribute to moving the needle for our agency, participating in projects or activities to support sales, marketing or administrative efforts. 

  • Rate of pay for a BEM starts at $20/hour and will be determined based on proven skills and experience. 

  • Hours will continue to vary depending on current workload but BEM’s should be available to work 15-30 hours per week.
