Your Social Presence is Showing Up in AI Answers. What's Yours Saying?

In the AI era, what was once a branding problem is now a data problem. Inconsistency isn't just confusing people anymore, it's creating bad training data.

Gary Vaynerchuk recently said big brands should be spending $10M a year producing YouTube Shorts exclusively to feed AI, specifically Gemini. Because YouTube Shorts maps directly to AEO and GEO results. That's not a content play. That's a signal play.

GEO, generative engine optimization, is how AI platforms build their understanding of who your brand is, what you stand for, and whether you're worth recommending. And your social presence is at the center of it, whether you planned it that way or not.

Every post, comment, creator collaboration, YouTube Short, and piece of UGC is input. Not in isolation, but as a pattern over time. Social is where the best intent-led questions get asked and answered in public, indexed signal that tells AI exactly what your brand knows, who it serves, and how it thinks.

When those signals are consistent, AI builds a clear picture. When they're fragmented, AI still builds a profile. It just might not be the one you'd choose.

Organic social was never just community management. It was always infrastructure. Paid social generates reach but leaves no residue. No public record, no crawlable signal, no entity footprint. The brands that went paid-heavy skipped the layer that GEO runs on.

Social-first brands didn't skip it. Consistent presence, real interaction, a full ecosystem of public touchpoints, that's what AI is ingesting to decide who gets recommended.

If you're not building that footprint intentionally, someone else is building it for you.
